Italian Wine Harvest

October 10, 2016 -

Autumn is the BEST time of year. Why, you ask? Because it’s perfect for picking grapes that are ready for harvesting.

Each year, usually in mid-September through October, Italians celebrate the harvest with fun, food and festivals. This year, we are celebrating the Italian Wine Harvest by offering you $10 off ALL bottles of wine now through the end of October.

Not sure which bottle to order? Here’s 5 of our favorite Italian wines on our current menu that are sure to please anyone!

Mamma Mia! White Blend

Mamma Mia! White Blend

Mamma Mia! wines are inspired by Italy and rooted firmly in the iconic Italian-American culture. This white blend is aged for 3 months in a stainless steel tank to preserve its freshness. Notes of peach, citrus, tropical fruit and flowers pair nicely with a Johnny Rocco Salad.

Lumina Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio has become Italy’s most famous white wine and a popular white wine in America. The name Lumina (‘illumination of the moon’ in Italian) brings attention to the importance of the moon during a grape’s life.

This medium-bodied, lively and clean wine pairs nicely with our Mussels in White Wine Lemon Butter.

Mamma Mia! Red Blend

You can’t say it without smiling. Mamma Mia! Red Blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with flavors of dark berries, vanilla, plum and rose.

We love to pair this wine with our made-from-scratch Lasagne. After one sip, you can’t help but exclaim “Mamma Mia!”

Santa Cristina Chianti

The Chianti region is located in Tuscany. For a Chianti to be a Chianti, the wine must be produced in the Chianti region and made from primarily Sangiovese grapes. This Chianti is made up of 95% Sangiovese grapes and is made by the Antinori family, who have been making wine for more than 600 years!

You’ll enjoy this Chianti with our Tuscan-Grilled Sirloin or Pork Chop topped with Marsala sauce.

Pian di Nova Super Tuscan

So what is a Super Tuscan? This term was coined in the 1970s by wine producers who wanted more flexibility than the strict rules of creating a Chianti but did not want to be labeled a “table wine”. Today, most Super Tuscans can feature a variety of different grapes. The Pian di Nova Super Tuscan features 75% Syrah and 25% Sangiovese.

We recommend pairing this wine with our Shrimp & Scallop Linguine Alla Vodka.

Now….which bottle will you be ordering tonight?
